Hailed as one of the nation’s leading youth orchestras, AYS is dedicated to the artistic and professional development of outstanding musicians. Activities are designed to enhance their musical education through performance experience. The program helps performers build their artistry and knowledge of the repertoire, and gain the confidence and ability necessary to win highly competitive positions in professional orchestras. Making live classical music of exceptional quality available to the community is also a cornerstone of AYS’s mission; as such, all concerts at Royce Hall are admission-free.
